You Know You Live in the Ghetto If...

I love where I live... most of the time.  I am surrounded by some amazing neighbors who are so talented and fun to be around.  It doesn't hurt that they are in the same boat as Lundon and me (going to school, starting a family, etc.).   The manager is awesome too:). However, I have a few neighbors that make living here feel like the ghetto.  So, I have come up with a list of tell-tale signs that you live in the ghetto, based off of my real-life experiences.   

You know you live in the Ghetto if...

• you have a neighbor dog that poops on your door-mat/sidewalk once a week
• you see the neighbor kids throwing rocks at geese instead of bread
• you give the kids bread to throw to the geese  but they eat it instead because they're so hungry
• there is a stabbing right outside of your apartment the night you move in
• you feel lucky to have made it 2-1/2 years before your car gets broken into*
• the police are too busy to file a report when your car finally does get broken into

These are just some of the things that keep me looking forward to the day that we can move into a house.  Yay!  There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

*Yes, our car was broken into this morning and it is very annoying.  They didn't take anything except for an i-pod, and Lundon's backpack.  Luckily all that was in his backpack were a few textbooks, a blood pressure cuff and an epi pen.  I'm sure they won't be using any of those items.  We are out $130.00 for a broken window.

Our family spent our New Year's Eve SLEEPING!  I know, we are losers.  We were still getting over jet-lag and I had no problem getting some much needed ZZZ's.   Lundon and I had a fabulous dinner to make up for it though.  Lundon won a Cameron Mitchell gift card at a golf tournament, so we put it to good use on our New Year's Eve dinner.  We ate at a very modern and very yummy restaurant called "M."  It was sooo good.  Lundon and I both had the filet mignon and it was a definite '10!'  I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Christmas in the Festival City

For Christmas this year we spent 9 eventful days in Cedar City.  Whenever it's time to leave I always wish that I could stay longer.  It just seems like there is never enough time!  It snowed and snowed while we were there, so most of our time was spent indoors.  Lundon and my little sis watched "Heroes," and are now huge fans.  Lundon also spent a weekend in Vegas with his buddy living the bachelor life, gambling and staying in a 2-room penthouse suite.  I asked if I could come too but I guess that would have put a damper on the whole bachelor thing.  I spent most of my time hanging out with family, which was just as good.   Benson had an action-packed vacation too.  He mastered crawling and standing-up on anything and everything.  For Christmas he got a new toy that he absolutely adores, so I put a video of it below.
