B-Day Update

I can't believe it's been over a month since I've blogged.  Benson is really keeping me on my toes these days, getting into anything and everything.  May is the month for Birthdays, so I thought why not blog about that?  Mine was on Saturday and Benson's is on the 19th.  I'm still trying to figure out what we're going to do for our little guy's first birthday! If you have any ideas, feel free to share. 

On Saturday I turned the big 28.  Lundon and I have a hard time keeping track of how old we are now, so I can only imagine how it's going to be in the future!  Lundon did such a good job making me feel special (since it was Mother's day as well).  He started my day off with a trip to the spa to get a manicure and pedicure.  I felt so pampered! It has been a long time since I've had my toenails painted and they needed it badly.  Next, I met him for breakfast at Panera- YUM! Then I was off to the best part of the day- an hour and a half massage.  I have never felt so relaxed!  I told Lundon that they really shouldn't let you drive after a massage.  I have never been drunk, but I can imagine that it feels somewhat like you do after a massage.  Needless to say, I made it home and spent the rest of my day with my boys.  Thanks Lundon for a wonderful day.  I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband, he is seriously one of the most thoughtful people I know.

Benson's Ten Month Update

It is time for a quick Benson update.  Tomorrow our little guy will be ten months old.  I can't believe how fast he is growing!  It seems like everyday he is doing something new.  Here are some of the things I want to remember about Benson at this age:

• He has just started walking and would much rather be moving than sitting in his highchair or car seat.
• He loves to clap along to patty-cake.
• He is Mommy's assistant and helps by pulling everything out of the cupboards/drawers while I get ready in the morning or cook dinner.
• He has quite the sense of humor and thinks everything is hilarious especially Gizmo.
• He is my little snuggle bunny and likes to cuddle with me when he gets tired.
• Broccoli and pears are his favorite foods but he will only eat them in finger food form.

I let Benson play with whip cream and he got it everywhere, he thought it was sooo funny when Gizmo started licking it off of his hands.

You Know You Live in the Ghetto If...

I love where I live... most of the time.  I am surrounded by some amazing neighbors who are so talented and fun to be around.  It doesn't hurt that they are in the same boat as Lundon and me (going to school, starting a family, etc.).   The manager is awesome too:). However, I have a few neighbors that make living here feel like the ghetto.  So, I have come up with a list of tell-tale signs that you live in the ghetto, based off of my real-life experiences.   

You know you live in the Ghetto if...

• you have a neighbor dog that poops on your door-mat/sidewalk once a week
• you see the neighbor kids throwing rocks at geese instead of bread
• you give the kids bread to throw to the geese  but they eat it instead because they're so hungry
• there is a stabbing right outside of your apartment the night you move in
• you feel lucky to have made it 2-1/2 years before your car gets broken into*
• the police are too busy to file a report when your car finally does get broken into

These are just some of the things that keep me looking forward to the day that we can move into a house.  Yay!  There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

*Yes, our car was broken into this morning and it is very annoying.  They didn't take anything except for an i-pod, and Lundon's backpack.  Luckily all that was in his backpack were a few textbooks, a blood pressure cuff and an epi pen.  I'm sure they won't be using any of those items.  We are out $130.00 for a broken window.
